As global markets evolve and major retailers increasingly dominate, local producers are often pushed aside. Consequently, customers seeking organic local goods are frequently funneled toward products offered by large producers. In Cluj-Napoca, I identified a gap in the market: people still need to visit local markets in person or rely on word of mouth and social media to discover certain organic local products.
Establish a simple and accessible communication channel between local producers and potential customers to increase transparency about local products for buyers, while supporting producers with easier promotion and sales.
To better define the potential users and understand their needs, I conducted interviews with 10 local producers from Cluj-Napoca and 10 potential customers, aiming to identify patterns that would highlight the solution. Following this step, several key findings and assumptions were validated.

This product involves development for two primary personas: the buyer and the seller. For the purposes of this case study, however, the focus will be on the buyer, including their persona, user flow, and UI design scenarios. With this in mind, the next step is to define the customer persona, establishing a protagonist to guide the product’s story.

Based on the research findings and the lack of competition in the local market, a potential solution is a mobile app. This approach is effective because it is easily accessible, always in users’ pockets, and familiar due to the prevalence of food delivery apps, which increases the likelihood of adoption. Consequently, clear and intuitive navigation is essential to onboard users effectively and support their purchasing goals, as detailed below.

The Organic Goodies app is a hybrid application designed to deliver an intuitive user experience. Guided by Material Design and Human Interface Guidelines, I prototyped each UI component to build friendly, easy-to-use screens. In addition, I incorporated the brand strategy by conveying a cohesive story to future customers through the use of logo, typography, and color palette.
